Sunday, March 27th, 2011

This new Aussie artist from Brisbane, Australia is a whole lot more than just a pretty face. His ability to write and perform music goes so far beyond your average artist – it’s like its music from a future era. His music connects best to girls of any age, being female myself I wasn’t the only one left asking for more. The tracks will pick you up; yet leaves you feeling sexy and energised.

Carlos “Go Go” Gomez is a world-renowned percussionist. He is an extremely accomplished musician, who seeks to break the boundaries of conventional music. This can be clearly heard in his new album “New Paradigm Global Music”.

“Water Dragon” the first track on the album begins with the sounds of rushing water, synthesized sounds, and various percussion instruments. As the song progresses different tracks are layered on, which gives the appearance that there are multiple musicians.

Album Review: Green View – Assimilation EP

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

The Green View’s sound is a mix of various genres which they explore throughout “Assimilation EP”. The band experiments with many early country, blues and rock influences. Zach Spaulding’s voice is reminiscent of a lot of classic rock musicians from the 50s and 60s, warm sounding, bluesy, and pleasing to the ear. While the other vocalist, Ashley Ferguson, has more of a pop approach that works well when contrasted with Spaulding’s singing, as well as on its own. The members of The Green View are diverse, multi-talented, and able to adapt to a variety of musical stylings.

In your very first paragraph you go on about how 4’33″ is “one of the most talked about music ‘compositions’ of all time” in regards to it’s effects on modern composers and music and yet you immediately follow this statement by denying any validity to these discussions because why? Because YOU say it’s not music?

Major artists frequently release free singles or even whole EPs to be downloaded by the masses.
